Post subject: Help for starting the replication server
I have configured the database for replication using repmgr command
I also started the replication server. It is started and its status is active. But there are one error message comming which is related to the authorization of the remote database.
Using netutil I have made the connection settings for remote database. But still it is generating following error.

following are the contents of replicate.log


paloalto::mytestrepdb server 1: Error -- Tue Aug 9 07:39:11 2005 - 1801 -- OPEN_CON: DBMS error 6253 connecting to database 'utpal::mytestrepdb' for session 4. Role authorization check failed.
Either the specified role does not exist, or the specified password is invalid.
Contact your system manager for further assistance..

If anyone can have solution for above then please let me know...

Ajay,

you need the "ingrep" role on the target node.

In an sql session connected to iidbdb:
create role ingrep;
grant ingrep to public;
(or grant ingrep to user <username>)
